About Budding Writers Sussex
Budding Writers Sussex exists for young people who love to write, providing extracurricular creative writing opportunities in the form of workshops, courses and clubs. Many children with a passion for words and stories complain of not doing as much creative writing as they would like at school, which is where Budding Writers Sussex comes in!
About the Course Leader
My name is Ruby Cooper and I am passionate about words and language. In 2015, I achieved a first-class BA in English and Related Literature at The University of York. From April 2017 to June 2019, I worked at The Weald Community School, delivering literacy intervention lessons to small groups of Year 7s, 8s and 9s. Now, I work as a private Literacy/English tutor for children in Key Stage 1-4 and have just finished training to be a secondary school English teacher, at The University of Sussex.
I have an Enhanced DBS Certificate (Disclosure and Barring Service, formerly Criminal Records Bureau or CRB).
