Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difficulty level of the course?

The course does involve some challenging concepts, but all abilities are welcome and will be able to access the course on their level. The only essential criteria is a passion for words and writing.

The course is an opportunity for children who enjoy writing to take this interest further. If your child is particularly struggling with English/ certain aspects of it (e.g. spelling, reading or reading comprehension), this would be something that I could help with through private tutoring.

What if my child is worried about enrolling?

One of my priorities is to create a friendly, relaxing atmosphere. There are many opportunities for the children to share their work, and I do gently encourage them to read it to the group - or, at least, to let me read it for them - but I will never force this! I understand that the children may not be comfortable sharing a particular piece of writing or having the spotlight on them.

If your child has any other concerns, please let me know, and I am sure that I will be able to provide reassurance.

When will the next course be?

If you would like to be the first to hear about future courses, just let me know and I will add you to my mailing list.

Are one-to-one sessions an option?

Yes, for children who need help with particular areas of writing and reading that they are struggling with, e.g. spelling, punctuation, grammar, or sentence structure.
